A: Not at all! Our programs welcome individuals of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Our curriculum-based teaching approach ensures you learn techniques step-by-step in a structured, safe, and supportive environment. 

A: If you don't own a Jiu-Jitsu Kimono (Gi) yet, wear comfortable athletic wear such as a fitted t-shirt or rashguard with athletic shorts or spats (leggings) with no zippers or metal clips. Once you join, our coaches will guide you on uniform requirements.

A: Getting started is simple! There is a link on our first page for a free trial. You will be directed to choose a day and time to visit us and you will be requested to add your basic information. You can also contact us via our website form, email us at info@vitalbrothersbjj.com, or send us a text/call on WhatsApp at (754) 270-4176 to schedule your first visit. 

Note for experienced practitioners or visitors: If you are an active practitioner visiting from another local gym, out-of-state, or anywhere worldwide, please register for a Drop-In pass rather than a trial class. Contact us ahead of time so we can prepare for your visit!

A: Yes! Trial classes are available specifically for kids (ages 3 to 11) and absolute beginners of any age—both kids and adults—who want to start their Jiu-Jitsu journey with us.

A: Yes! We are proud partners of the We Defy Foundation, supporting combat veterans through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and fitness training to empower their physical and mental well-being. We also offer 10% off on the monthly membership for any military family or first responders.

A: To keep the gym clean and healthy for everyone:

1. Ensure your training gear (Gi and rashguard) is clean before every session.
2. Keep finger and toe nails trimmed short.
3. Wear footwear (flip-flops/shoes) off the mat, especially when using the restroom, and step onto the mats barefoot.

A: No, all memberships are for an unlimited plan. You can attend one, two, three, or four times a week for the same price, as there are no discounts for attending only one day a week. For parents that have multiple sports whenever they close or the season changes the schedule, we keep ours the same.

A: No, the sign-up fee cannot be voided. Only official Vital Brothers (VB) uniforms are allowed at the school, and the sign-up fee includes the required uniform (Gi, belt, and rash guard).

A: No, the sign-up fee is a one-time charge, provided the student never cancels their membership. However, if a student cancels their membership and returns later, they will be charged the sign-up fee again.

A: Yes, students can freeze their membership by sending a text or email request with the dates for the freeze (start and end date). There is no fee if a student freezes their membership for 2 weeks. If more than 2 weeks is requested a $50.00 flat fee will be charged and freeze can only be for up to 90 days (3 months) maximum in one year. If after the 90 days pass and the student does not contact the academy, the student's membership will be automatically cancelled.
